It wasn't until I started frequently riding a different route that I noticed how excellent SWR was. The trains are dependable and usually operate on schedule; we have been using them for twenty years, multiple times a year. Unlike the other business I'm thinking of, where every other train seems to be either cancelled, delayed, or breaks down, there are very few breakdowns mid-journey. I wish all railroads could be as good as yours!

October 24, Tuesday. At Waterloo station, I've been waiting for a train to Guildford for the last four hours. "We apologise for the delay; there was an emergency services issue on the queue earlier." Total joke, poor communication. There is no indication of when a train will arrive.
