Why does John Lewis act as though it is above the law? bit.ly/2R3KyHi

I don't need to state my case. The Guardian did it, headed "Why does John Lewis act as though it is above the law?" bit.ly/2R3KyHi My guess is that they hire thick people to run have a chinese-whispers chain of command, but I am not a management consultant, I am someone who's alzheimers' mum wanted a TV with only one remote. It turned-out that my mum was happier with the old TV (which JL would have taken away for £15 - maybe a warning sign?) so i wrapped it in clingfilm and discovered that they have their own legal system which relies on their typical customers not being the kind of people who take out a court case. Just so a thick JL manager can get promotion. The law is the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and it's very clear that traders should inform consumers of their rights at every stage including a paper version, so the John Lewis hacker over-promoted dodgy managers are way out of step with the law except perhaps the employment law that says gross misconduct gets out out of the building. I don't know why the broader hierachy of John Lewis management tolerate a returns department that will record judgements against them on Registry-trust.org.uk. I think they need an honesty test and a test of ability to look things up, both built-in to their way of hiring managers in future. Managers who do not get judgements against the firm one one star reviews all over the internet.
