Banks/building societies are a dying trade and yet the ones we have don't seem to want to serve you! Go to pay a cheque in to a branch that since covid has only opened on reduced hours and still is!! They have signs saying use ATM to this that and the other which I saw once I'd walked into the branch - there were 2 cashiers and NO customers and yet still I was turned away and told to pay my cheque in the ATM! How ridiculous is this and why can't they accept it over the counter. They are protected by a screen and I wore a mask...FUMING!!!! Absolutely made no sense but it's OK I stood in the RAIN while trying to shield my cheque from getting wet at the ATM!
