Hi I was in the colchester store just before Xmas . My son is on the spectrum and the manager was not very understanding in this matter. My son had a hot drink in a cup with a lid on. It was below 0 out side. I also had a hot drink and the staff didn’t say anything to me . I was talking with the staff about the out generation range. My son wanted to go look at hot wheels . He is 16 but with his needs . He is younger . But I thought ok we are in a toy shop. So he went off. He then phoned me to say the manager was chucking him out . The manager touched my son in the shoulder and made my child feel uncomfortable and set off his triggers . I did try and explain to the manager but he was very aggressive and said we were banned. I didn’t see a no eating sign and said this. Apparently it was in the left hand side of the door and we went in on the right. Again I did try and explain. The manager has no customer skills and definitely no skill with dealing with specific needs . Plus this is a toy shop.
More trading is definitely needed .
My sons confidence wasn’t great before but now he has been made to feel like a criminal .
I really hope this can be corrected for the sake of the toy store and other families that might have to suffer the same treatment.
