Talking to someone and complaining is impossible. The town is filthy, and homeless individuals frequently sleep in the heaps of trash bags. Even the charity stores have closed, and the area exudes a strong narcotic smell. An utter pit of misery. Steer clear of it at all costs.
I used to love visiting Colchester thirty years ago. Right now, a colonoscopy would be a better experience.

Very poor council. The town centre's retail development is not given enough thought. There are numerous copies of the same industry (kebab and burger restaurants, for example). Colchester experiences extremely heavy traffic. Why is the major road considered to be the high street? In many places in and around Colchester, the pollution levels surpass the guidelines set by the EU. The nearby, but far finer, town of Ipswich should serve as an inspiration to the Colchester Council.
